TEHRAN : Afghan Foreign Ministry Spokesman Janan Mosazai underlined the need for the further expansion of ties and cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan.The Afghan foreign ministry spokesman pointed to the good and friendly relations between Iran and Afghanistan, calling “Iran a very good neighbor”.

“Iran has always supported the Afghan government in its campaign against terrorism,” Mosazai said.

Meantime, he called on Afghan citizens to avoid entering Iran illegally since the border crossings are severely under control of Iranian and Afghan border guards, specially because of the upcoming presidential election in Iran.

Iran is one of the most important donors to Afghanistan which has kept its promises to help to the reconstruction of the war-hit country.

Iran has built some roads, power transmission lines, and border stations, among the other infrastructure projects which would better link the two nations.
